Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)<\/h2><\/div>
<\/p>\n
Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan\u2019s state-funded preschool program for four-year-old children. The program is provided by the Michigan Department of Education and is administered by Wayne County RESA. The program is designed to offer high-quality preschool to get your child ready for kindergarten.<\/h5>\n
The program is free and income level will be the primary factor needed for determining eligibility and prioritization for enrollment of children who live in families at or below 250% Federal Poverty Level.<\/h5>\n
Any child from a family above 250% Federal Poverty Level will be required to pay tuition based on a sliding scale fee.<\/h5>\n
Eligibility Factors include:<\/h5>\n

  • \n
    Diagnosed disability or developmental delay<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Severe or challenging behavior<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Primary home language other than English<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Parent\/guardian who did not graduate from high school<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Abuse\/neglect of child or parent<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Environmental risk such as parental loss due to death, divorce, incarceration, military service, or absence<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Michigan's Nationally Recognized Free Pre-K <\/h2><\/div>

    Age Requirement: Must be age 4 on or before September 1st, with waivers available for children who turn 4 before December 1st.<\/h5>\n
